XDSL just had HUGE news hit the wires! This is a Must Read! Check it out-
Scalable Smart Reserve Cell Technology Positioned for Congressional Appropriation in Fiscal Year 2011
Listed to Receive Funding in the Amount of $2,500,000
LITTLE FALLS, NJ--(Marketwire - 08/31/10) - mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTC.BB:XDSL) announced today that scalable smart reserve cell technology is one of the items included in the Fiscal Year 2011 Defense Appropriations bill that was recently passed out of subcommittee in the United States House of Representatives. Scalable Smart Reserve Cell Technology is listed to receive funding in the amount of $2,500,000.
"We are encouraged that Congress has recognized the importance of this technology," said Mr. Ronald Durando, mPhase's President and Chief Executive Officer. The company is currently working closely with the United States Army to complete Phase II of a $750,000 Small Business Technology Transfer grant to develop scalable smart reserve power cell technology. This is the first time Congress has specifically designated funding for this type of technology.
If this funding is included in the final version of the bill, mPhase will be well positioned to compete for a federal grant, given its leadership in the field. The company is a leader in developing new innovative products using micro fluid dynamics, MEMS and super-hydrophobic suspension and separation of liquids on micro structures of silicon developed through the science of nanotechnology. mPhase began using the science of nanotechnology to develop power cells since in 2004 with the Bell Labs division of Alcatel-Lucent (formerly Lucent Technologies, Inc.)
The Company is scheduled to deliver a prototype of its Smart NanoBattery in the first quarter of its current fiscal year commencing July 1, 2010. "We believe that the successful delivery of a prototype of a first of its kind reserve battery designed for backup power for critical mission computer memory is vital in strategic weapons systems and sensor networks," said Durando. The company is positioned to custom tailor its Smart NanoBattery for a variety of military subsystems and critical mission commercial products.
About mPhase Technologies, Inc.
mPhase Technologies is introducing a revolutionary Smart Surface technology enabled by breakthroughs in nanotechnology, MEMS processing and microfluidics. Our Smart Surface technology has potential applications within drug delivery systems, lab-on-a-chip analytic systems, self-cleaning systems, liquid and chemical sensor systems, and filtration systems. mPhase has pioneered its first Smart Surface enabled product, the mPhase Smart NanoBattery.
XDSL's Smart Nano-Battery is unlike any other battery in the world! Features include:
- Near Infinite Shelf Life
- Environmentally Friendly Design "green"
- Fast Ramp to Power
- Programmable Control
- Direct Integration with Microelectronic Devices
- Lightweight
- No Voltage Delay
- High Energy Density
- Lower Manufacturing Costs
The best part is XDSL's Smart Nano-Battery is already in production! XDSL this year with the help of none other then Porsce Design Studio have come out with their first product using the revolutionary battery. The product is called the mPower Emergency Illuminator and can be found at www.mPowertech.com. The mPower is already starting to generate revenue for the company and is getting great publicity. This September XDSL's mPower product called the "Forever Flashlight"will be featured in the popular Mens Journal Magazine circulating to over 700,000!
This validates XDSL's revolutionary Smart Nano-Battery but this is just one of hundreds of other applications that can be used with this battery technology.
XDSL's Smart Surface technology not only could be used for the battery market but has applications that include self-cleaning surfaces, water filtration, liquid and chemical sensors and controllable drug delivery!
Let me reiterate, General Electric, one of the LARGEST companies in the world worth over $157 BILLION, recently announced that as part of its push into high-tech products that it will explore hydrophobic nano-engineered surfaces to improve the performance of other industrial products. Such surfaces can repel a wide range of liquids but be made to temporarily lose their liquid repelling properties using a technique known as "electrowetting." The research will be conducted in the Nanocoatings Subscale Lab at General Electric's Research Center in Niskayuna, New York.
Sound familiar? You got it! GE is investing into technology that XDSL has been developing for the past decade! This proves how valuable XDSL's technology and patents are!
mPhase has recently received a United States patent for the concept of a porous membrane made from silicon that is capable of controlling the flow of a wide range of liquids, including electrolytes, used in both primary and rechargeable batteries! This is HUGE! The concepts behind the porous membrane are being used in the development of the Smart NanoBattery that is starting to become world recognized!
Think about it ... battery technology hasn't changed in over 150 years yet a little company like mPhase has created a new battery "Smart Nano-Battery" that has never been developed before in world history!
So do you think you should invest into GE a company worth $157 Billion and probably has very little upside at this point (what is it going to go up in valuation a couple billion?) or in XDSL a company that has been developing a new battery technology, investing into smart surface technology for the past decade, received money from the US Army, and has over 10 patents issued & pending attributed to this technology that is only trading for $0.0157 cents!!! The risk to reward for XDSL shareholders is unbelievable!
In our opinion, XDSL has ten times more upside then GE for investors!
mPhase CEO Ron Durando said, "Smaller companies like mPhase do a lot of the initial development of various technologies, and when these new technologies reach the cusp of commercialization, companies such as GE step into the market to leverage their deep pockets and research capacities -- following the trail mPhase and others have blazed. We believe that GE's interest in hydrophobic nano-engineering surfaces is another great validation of our research and adds value to our portfolio of intellectual property."
After today's news we could see a breakout to the upside this afternoon!
Keep your eyes peeled on XDSL!
